If your goal is toning and weight loss, this is achievable with resistance training without you building muscles that are the size of a small house!
Instead of doing a few reps of really heavy weights, choose high reps, high volume and low intensity. To add to this, choosing compound exercises that use more than one muscle group, uses up more calories than say a bicep curl.
As with any exercise, it is important to ensure correct technique. Bearing this I'm mind, why not try adding some resistance training to spice up your fitness programme?!
