Rubbish Revision...

Writer's picture: ClaireClaire

Revision is only effective when you're actually doing it. It is all too common to believe we've spent hours working, only to realise that the majority of that time was spent scrolling through social media, checking messages, or even searching for exam-related gifs to share with friends.

In order to optimise your revision time, you need to cut out distractions. One big distraction is mobile phones. Try putting your mobile in a different room, or hiding it out of sight. When you're on a revision break, try doing something other than checking your phone. Try having a dance to your favourite music, going for a walk or doing a quick fitness video.

Timing your revision

Time flies when you're having fun, so make sure your breaks don't last longer than planned. Use a countdown timer to monitor how long you are revising for. When the timer goes off... and this is the super duper important part...set another countdown timer so you know when your break is over! Then get straight back on track with your revision.

Tick tock, tick tock!

Which reminds me...don't spend your break scrolling TikTok. You know, I know, we all know what will happen, because we've all been there. The time will fly by so fast that you won't feel like you've had a break at all.
